Life Coaching
“The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, the world will tell you.”
Life Coaching ranges from mere advice and trial recommendations based on personalities, all the way to calculated direction based on sound psychology. At Evolution Mental Health, we follow the latter strictly. The analytical insights of Carl Jung and the humanastic approach of Carl Rodgers inform our life coaching sessions.
Focusing on person-centered direction and assimilating principles from depth psychology, EMH exists to help clients discern their best paths forward in their integrated selves—in person in Temecula, California, or online anywhere in the world.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
Life Coaching
how it compliments but is different from traditional talk therapy
Perhaps you are already in therapy or have been already, or perhaps your concern is navigating the next steps forward or strategically planning some aspects of your life. Life coaching at EMH builds upon traditional talk therapy, incorporating the approach and principles of depth psychology (particularly analytical psychology) and person-centered humanism, which values your whole being: mind, body, and spirit. Therapy focuses on understanding and healing the past to face the present and prepare for the future; life coaching focuses structuring aspects of your life, mapping out your future goals, and walking together to assist you in achieving the steps necessary to realize them.
“The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate.”

Unfortunately, health insurance typically does not cover life coaching. While many insurance providers cover services such as therapy, counseling, and psychiatric treatment, life coaching falls outside the scope of these covered treatments. Here’s why:
Different Purposes: Life coaching and therapy serve different purposes. Therapy is often used for treatment of mental health conditions, whereas life coaching focuses on personal development, goal-setting, and overcoming challenges. Life coaches help clients clarify values, set goals, and provide perspective on various aspects of life.
Coverage Limitations: Health insurance plans vary, but most do not include coverage for life coaching. Insurance companies prioritize medically necessary treatments, and life coaching is not considered such a treatment. Life coaching is not intended to diagnose or treat psychiatric conditions, which is why it doesn’t fall under insurance coverage.
In summary, if you’re seeking life coaching services, it’s essential to understand that insurance coverage is unlikely. You may need to explore other payment options or consider self-pay for life coaching sessions. Keep in mind that while insurance doesn’t cover life coaching, it can still be a valuable investment in your personal growth and well-being!
